HOW closely were you looking at last night’s Versace spring/summer 2018 show? Donatella invited original supers Carla Bruni, Claudia Schiffer, Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford and Helena Christensen to celebrate the life and work of Gianni Versace on the runway as fashion history was made once more. The collection, split into 12 sections and presented by today’s top models, drew on the prints her brother created from 1991 to 1995, as Donatella “finally found the courage to really go to the archives and pay tribute to Gianni”. Look closely at the Vogue, Warhol, Icons, Baroque, Animalia, Native Americans and Metal Mesh-inspired pieces (to name a few of the Nineties collections) and there are some more hidden notes to takeaway. From the original archive skirt to Kaia Gerber’s tribute to her mother, check out Donatella’s details.
